Used F650
Great article and read about: Used F650 For Sale
Q: What brand of memory card can a finepix F650 camera use?
A: The brand matters not. Where you buy it, is a whole different story … for now buy your cards at a large chain electronics store or one like Wal-Mart , or K-Mart or Target.
There have been some fake memory cards being sold on the Internet, most notably eBay.

Q: Odd problem with F650 backing plates, do you know?
Just bought a used 2007 F650 tilt and slide w/15″ brake drum and 8 5/8″ shoes. Just realized that there are no backing plates. Dealer said it’s an option. He can’t find any numbers to order them. Does anyone have any insight for us?
A: Find out the make of the rear end( probably Dana 80?) then try a truck parts place (Fleetpride, etc) I take my backing plates off so dust and dirt don’t stay in between the shoes and drum
Q: Any recommendations for cheap adventure/ dualsport bikes?
I’m aware of the KLR-650, and some used BMW F650’s can be had for cheap, but online I’m seeing alot of cheap foreign 125cc bikes. Any recommendations for things like that in america?
A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net
Q: How much should I pay for 1998 BMW F 650?
Its a white 1998 BMW F650 with 28,679 miles and runs well but is obviously used. What is a reasonable price for this bike?
A: Considering that you can get them brand new for 8k, I wouldn’t go much more than 3500 if it was in very good shape.
Q: which bike ? VRSC vs R1200GS vs F650?
Even since I moved to the UK I have missed one thing riding my bike. I am now considering buying a bike and I am torn between three options. Buying the smaller more efficient F650 or to go for the bigger ones the R1200GS or the Harley V-ROD
I plan to use the bike to commute to work every day which is about 12 miles or 20 KM one way and use it once in a while for touring. The best fit for my requirement is the F650, powerful enough, efficient, cheaper to insure and I can leave it parked anywhere easily. Since I do not have any no claims bonus and since I have been living here for only 3 years the insurance costs are pretty high on most vehicles and I do not have a garage so parking is a bit of an issue. The bike probably has to be parked in the front lawn.
But then on second thoughts the F650 is not all that cheaper than the other bikes i.e. the R1200GS and the Harley VRod. I have my heart set on the V Rod at the moment but the only issue is I am not sure if I can use it every day to travel into the city, I have heard a lot of riders complain that the V Rod’s riding position is not very comfortable on long rides specially if one if short (i am 5′8″). Any comments anyone ?
A: the v-rod handles fine at speed but it takes at least 2 lanes to do a u-turn. take a look at the xr1200 instead cheaper to buy and should be cheaper to insure and a lot more maneuverable. plus the bike is not available in the US.

Q: What is the best(for the money) dual-purpose motorcycle tire?
I’m using trail wings right now but they don’t last very long.Is there something better?
The bike is a BMW F650 (1999)
A: I’ve always liked Metzler for off road and as a dual sport tire especially for trial riding for street riding only I perfer Avon Venom’s or Avon Roadrider’s ,I get my tires online from Americanmototire.com cheapest place I have found for quailty tires
Q: 1979 ford f650 double cab specifications?
so im looking at buying a 79 f 600 double cab but i need to know how much the total Weight is for registration and safety, it used to be a flat bed with a hydraulic dump bed but it has been converted to a normal truck bed ( i believe the bed is a 6 ft bed ) and it still has the dump hydraulic.
i really just need a close number so that i don’t have to go to a weigh station and waste my money…
also if you know any other specs on this year and style of truck please be free to mention them.
thanks
A: Could be about anything, depends on how it was spec’ed out and built. Maybe take the vin to a dealer and they could tell you
Q: Have you ever seen an F650?
swallow up a Saturn to be used as alternative fuel then spit out the exhaust pipe?
I swear that was going to be my fate…that effer was BIG
A: YA! That was the gigantic juggernaut-looking thing that was huffing all over the back of my sedan yesterday on US-1!! I couldn’t believe anyone would want to have to feed something that atrocious right now. I actually said out loud to myself, “Holy sh*t, wot da F*CK is THAT?!” when I saw it behind me!
Q: 2000 Ducati Monster 750 Dark or the 1998 BMW F650?
Which one do I buy and why? I am using the bike for recreational use in central NJ, and the occasiaonal 100 mile ride on those perfect weather days….
A: A lot depends. How much riding experience do you have? What kind of riding do you do? Fast? Touring?
I’ve ridden both (owned the 750), and these are very different bikes…both are very good, but in their own way.
The F650 is very friendly, reliable, versatile, comfortable and economical. If it’s got belt-drive, cha-ching for no chain maintenance. On the other hand, it’s not really an off-road bike, nor a sport bike…it’s…well…an F650. Can be boring for some, especially if you’re a speed freak. I’d have one in my mental “dream garage” for sure. Esp with luggage…for riding to Yosemite and back on a whim.
The Monster is, well, a Monster. It makes all the Ducati noises and, if ridden properly, can be pretty quick. The 750 frame is a little bendy, and makes for twitchy handling when cornered hard on bumpy roads. It’s also maintenance intensive, *requiring* pretty expensive service every 6k miles. Not really a thumb-it-and-go kind of bike like the F is. It will also make you want to spend unreasonable amounts of money tarting it up with carbon fiber, trick forks, etc, etc.
So… bottom line, both good bikes. Depends on what you want. If you don’t have a lot of riding experience, or patience for “fiddly” things…go for the F650. If you’ve got experience, don’t mind maintenance, need that Ducati sound, and like riding fast…the Monster is the way to go.
(Btw. I currently own both a Monster S4 and ST4s)
Q: I need a starting bike? Are these good choices?
Well i need a good starter bike. I have been looking at many things. To start i am 6ft1in, and about 220 lbs. So from what i have been told with my body type i would need a bike thats about 500cc or higher? is this true? I have been looking at a used bmw f650 or a kawasaki ninja 500r. I also need to worry about money. I hear the bmw is more to buy/insure, but much cheaper to maintain, and will last longer. ninjas are cheap to buy/insure, but dont last as long, and are more to maintain? I have no clue whats right or wrong, but can someone please give me buying suggestions.
Any other bike choices, or ideas?
A: I would lean towards the 500r out of the two. BMW’s are lovley machines, but expensive when dropped and in need of maintenance. A used 500R, 2nd hand would be a good bet for a tight budget. The 500R is actually not that powerful, which makes it a good beginner bike . And the twin cylinder engine gets great mpg as well.
Q: How can I charge my camera [Fujifilm F650] without mains power?
I’m going trekking in Mexico for a month, and ideally want to take my digital camera. It doesn’t take disposable batteries – just an NP-40 battery which charges using a cradle plugged into a mains socket – we won’t have access to mains power much. We’ve been searching the internet for days and can’t find any sort of charger [eg. solar, windup etc] which would suit it… Does anyone know what I should do for it?
Sorry yeah, we won’t have access to cars [or civilisation in general, hahaha]. Indeed I have a solar charger already, and it can’t charge camera cradles. Thanks :-]
A: If I were you, I would just buy another camera (one which uses AA batteries). Because, it seems to be your best choice in the situation. Besides, the Fujifilm F650 is getting a little old now, isn’t it? A brand new camera (that’s better than yours) will be cheaper to buy than what yours originally cost. So, updating makes sense.
With AA batteries, you can take along as many as you can carry. For travelling (and when you have no access to power) the logical choice of battery to use is non rechargeable Lithium, such as “Energizer® Ultimate Lithium”. They last up to 8x that of ordinary batteries and are well worth the expense. To conserve battery life, be sure to turn off the LCD screen in-between shots, limit how long you review your images and also limit the use of the flash.
Happy trekking (and shooting)…
Q: 4×4 truck what is the heavy-est load or thing you ever pulled?
what is the heavy-est thing or load you pulled with a 4×4 truck?what is the max wait a ford f350 can pull?i have a 5 wheel 7×50 foot trailer 6 foot high rail’s?i load about 250 or more full size trees in my trailer and it ways most of the time fully loaded at 80,000 pounds or more?i use a semi truck now to pull it.i own the trailer but not the semi?is there any 4×4 trucks out there that will hual my trailer?like a ford f350 or even a ford f650 ?is it a crazy idea to hual a trailer that heavy or big with a 4×4 truck?and how do i hook up the trailer brakes to a 4×4 truck.the trailer bracks are air?i know i sound crazy but i want to buy a brand new 4×4 truck to hual my trailer fully loaded not a semi truck.i also load and un load my trailer its a lot of work.i work for a land clearing and tree farm comp.i’m not that smart but i work very very hard?
A: Hi…..Daddytrucker is right. I have a Ford F-450 Superduty flatbed tow truck, 7.3 diesel, and low range manual transmission. I can tow most anything with it, but it wouldnt last long if i was to tow 80,000 lbs. My truck can handle 3 forklifts on the bed, and maybe a big Suburban on the wheel-lift, but thats about it. Take your money and get a used semi in good condition. You can probably find a good one for about $30,000 or so, same price as a new 4×4 one ton pick-up. Look on ebay under “commercial trucks”. I have bought 3 4×4 trucks on ebay so far, and always made money. I know insurance and fuel costs are higher on a big truck, but if you get anything smaller, and need to hit the brakes under load, you gonna end up in a ditch anyway, may even kill yourself or someone else. I also have a 75 GMC 1 ton pickup, 350 gas, low range transmission,….i load that thing up with 5 or 6,000 lbs of gravel occasionally, but thats about max payload, probably over. Buy the right truck for the job at hand, otherwise, your gonna lose in the long run. I have a friend who recently bought a 1/2 ton Silverado X-Cab pickup, he got a great price on it. But, the guy who had it before him pulled a big gooseneck trailer with it, and moved farm equipment, so, its all wore out. The suspension, transmission, and motor are virtually whipped. He only uses it for transportation, but as a truck its virtually worthless now. Maybe you can get a Semi truck and extend the frame, ad a “grapple” to it? Something that would assist you in moving the logs, or a trailer that dumps. The older you get, the harder the work is gonna get. Make the machine do the work, and you just operate it. Good Luck!!
Q: How do I change my 1.1 USB ports to 2.0 ports?
I have a sony vaio laptop. Its model number is PCG-F650.
It’s an old computer that has 1.1 usb ports. I use the computer for school and etc. so it would be a nice upgrade to have 2.0 usb ports. Thanks for any answers.
A: You can’t upgrade your 1.1 ports. You can get a PC card (pcmcia) adapter to add 2.0 ports. Here’s a link to one for around $20

Q: using vegetable oil instead of gasoline
ive heard about people using vegetable oil to replace gasoline, would i be able to do that to a ford f650?
i think a f650 does use diesel, i dont know for sure but its a monster and i would be suprised if it didnt
okay, using vegetable oil to fuel a vehicle, there, better choice of words
A: First of all you can’t replace gasoline with vegetable oil. However you can replace diesel fuel with vegetable oil to burn in a diesel engine. In order to use vegetable oil, you’ll need to filter it and heat it up to 160° to burn. Most applications use two fuel tanks. One for diesel (to warm up the engine), and one for vegetable oil. The heat from the diesel can also be used to warm up the vegetable oil, then you can switch tanks. About 5 min’s before turning off the engine you’ll need to switch back to diesel to clean out the fuel line, or you won’t be able to start your cold engine with oil.
Q: What are some bikes with ABS. I’m interested in bikes that are less than about 700 cc and sold in the US.?
What are some bikes with ABS. I’m interested in bikes that are less than about 700 cc and sold in the US. For example the BMW F650 GS. Also, I am looking for used bikes so ones that have come with ABS for many years are a plus (cheaper is also good). I prefer sport bikes like ninja 500 etc., but I don’t think bikes in that category come with ABS. And if you think ABS is stupid then read this: http://www.msf-usa.org/imsc/proceedings/a-Green-ComparisonofStoppingDistance.pdf
For remowlms: while I’ve never tried an ABS bike I am curious. Thing is that ABS makes a real difference in cars especially in the snow. I dare you to try to outbrake in the same model car without ABS, if have one with ABS on roads that have snow and are poorly plowed ditto with wet roads on a downhill. Thing is on bike you might miss the fact that there is a small patch of sand or gravel or leaves, or it might be too dark to see that the road is a little wet in a certain area and you could easily lock your wheel without ABS especially if your caught off guard. I have never locked anything but my rear wheel on purpose with the brakes, but I have been caught off guard by a random deer in a very residential area and am afraid I might panic and lock a wheel. Like I said hasn’t happened to me but happens to a lot of riders and I only have 2000 miles of experience so what do I know? Yes you can live without ABS but you can also live without fuel-injection on a sport bike but this is 2008!
A: Suzuki SV650 or a Bandit 650 ( Bandit 650 was only sold in Canada but there may be some floating around the used bike market ). The Bandit 650’s replacement, the GSX650F does not offer ABS though.
