Q: Prices of used 1987 Chevy S10 Engine V6 2.8 Liter?
Hello all, my lady friend and I had a terrible mishap the other day driving down the road in her S10 Blazer… it threw a rod in the engine. So, I am curious as to if any of you Chevy experts would know what the going prices are for used Engines, like the one described in the title. A price range would be fine, no need to get too specific. Thanks for your help! It’s appreciated!
It is also 4×4, in case that would make a difference.

A: if its in good condiction i wouldnt give anymore that 2500 for it but if it aint thats up to you to decide

Q: i live in moline illinois looking for a used chevy s10 rim?

A: I would try the junk yards. S-10 shouldn’t be that difficult to locate a rim for it. Living in Moline could be a little different depending on the year of the truck.

Q: Where can I buy a new or used 2007-2010 Chevy S10 in the Chicagoland area?
I have been searching forever on many sites and I cant find a good one was after 2004…I need Chevy S10 and if you can please find me one in the Chicagoland area i would really appreciate it…and please show me the link..

A: The Chevy Colorado replaced the S10 in those yrs. Maybe that’s why you can’t find one.

Q: What do you think of the chevy s10 1994?
im thinking about selling my 1995 ford probe gt to get a used chevy s10 so i wouldnt have to ask my step dad to borrow his truck every time i take my dirtbike out. and i was woundering what people thought of the truck is it reliable, fast, and so on…

A: Mine was a ‘95 with the 6 cyl. auto. I drove it for 140K b4 trading it in. Over that time I replaced ball joints, u joints (twice) balanced the drive shaft, replaced the AC compressor under warrenty, replaced the Alternator (twice) 3 batteries, the driver side mirror. (It broke off at the base, was not hit) re glued the rear-view mirror,re glued the handle on the slide by rear window, which GM parts dept. said “never comes off” replaced the serpentine belt twice, replaced the wiper drive motor. (I found out after the fact that it was a factory recall that I never got the notice for.) All in all it was a pretty good truck. I hammered the S*** out of it & hauled a 17 ft pontoon boat a lot of miles & loaded it down to the stops many times with landscaping material. Fast it wasn’t, they’re geared fairly low to compensate for the minimal HP output. Busted parts or not it always got me home. Drove it 200+ miles with the U joint clacking all the way.

Q: I am thinking of buying a used 2001 S10 Chevy Extreme. Is it any good? and Fast truck?
2001 chevy s10 extreme with low mies and a nice sound system. It has a 4.3l v6 with extras like air aid throttle body spacer, e3 wires, and K&N air intake system. the mileages is only 71.340

A: Yes, very nice truck. They’re pretty fast to begin with, and the stuff added about 25hp. I wouldn’t pay over 5 or 6k for it though, unless at a buy here pay here lot. nice truck though, good motor. obviously not the fastest thing on the road but good and fast enough

Q: My husband just got a used Chevy S10….leaking oil?
The truck is a 2003 with 80,000 miles. We have only had it a couple of weeks and just noticed the oil on the driveway today. The truck had a full oil change yesterday at a Qwik Lube type business and they said everything looked good. Today I parked the truck on a hill/slope upwards on our driveway with the emergency brake on. It was parked like that for about 2 hours – then we noticed the 1 by 5 foot oil area where the truck was parked.

What could cause this? Do you think it is serious?

A: There could be a few reasons for this. I had a Honda Accord that did this as well, a little more serious thou. My problem was when they changed the oil part of the oil filter seal broke off of the old filter and stuck to the motor. When they reinstalled the filter and tightened it, it never sealed properly to the motor. The oil blew all over the bottom side of my car. Of course I took it back, to that big store with “W” and they fixed it for free. Their fault. It also could be a bad valve cover gasket, easy fix, or oil sending unit, or a bad oil pan gasket. But if it wasn’t leaking this bad before I would be apt to think that there might be a problem with the oil change its self.

Q: is it possible to use a lamborghini exhuast in a chevy (s10)?
I just wanna know if there are only specific exhuast systems that only a chevy s10 can use. Are there any universal exhuast systems? what do i need to put in a new exhuast system in my s10 and what do i need to take out or replace?

A: Pete , crawl under it with a flashlight and take a peek , if the truck is warm it will be the hottest pipe running from the engine to the back , replacement can be a pain without a hoist , if you want to put a borla muffler on it that is your call , lots of $$$ , some parts are specific to the s10 , many others depend on pipe diameter .

Q: Chevy s10 Headlights problem?
I bought a ‘95 Chevy s10 used and after driving it at night found that the headlamps appeared to flicker on and off spontaneously. I later found that they weren’t turning off, just switching to fog lamps. The flickering begins very slowly, switching from headlights to fog lights for about two seconds then back to headlights for about ten seconds, and then switches back to fog lights for another two seconds but only switches to headlights again for a shorter time than before. This gets worse until they switch back and forth every second, and eventually the lights turn out completely. I found a 12v relay mounted which leads to a push button switch under the dash, but is not connected to anything on the other side. Anybody have any ideas?

A: If they did not hook it up like a volunteer fireman with a flasher installed, sounds like the electrical brain is dying.

Q: where can i find a used radiator for a 2000 chevy s10 blazer in phoenix,az ?

A: Call some of your local auto parts stores.Get the best price on a aftermarket radiator.Used ones cause more problems than you have now.Hope this helps.

Q: Where could i find a nice, used, sold by a reliable dealer, Chevy S10?
i wanna find a Chevy S10, truck, thats a stick, not too many miles, possibly in the mid to later 1990 years. im looking at like maybe 10-12 thousand tops, im a poor college student trying to get a new vehicle. color dont matter, nothing except no outrageous modifications, i want it stock

A: Most dealerships that are reputable won’t sell used vehicles much older than 5 years. This is because in order to maintain a good reputation the vehicles they sell must be reliable, and unfortunately beyond 5 years, vehicles can’t be guaranteed.

You should be able to find a late 90’s S10 for well under $10-12k in your local classifieds or bargain finder. Just make sure you take it to a mechanic or dealership you trust before you buy it for a thorough checkup. It will likely cost you a couple of hundred dollars, but will be well worth it to know the truck you’re getting is worth what you’re paying. You should ask the dealership to basically do the same inspection on it that they would on a used vehicle they were going to sell themselves, and tell you everything they see as needing to be fixed, or on its way to being worn out. You can then realistically decide if you should purchase the vehicle and have the repairs made, or look for another vehicle.

Unless you require a pickup truck for some reason, I’d suggest looking for a small cheap car that is only a couple of years old. You’ll get far more reliability, and fuel efficiency for your money, and your resale value will be higher when you’re finished school and ready to get a newer or nicer vehicle.

Q: gas MPG of a 2001 Chevy S10, ,6 cyc, 4X4, automatic.?
Have a used Chevy S10, 4X4 with a 6 cyc engine. What sort of gas mileage should I be getting on the highway.?

A: I am guessing here but if its the 4 door version prob between 14 to 16mpg. you may even get as much as 18 if you use 93 octane and the car is tuned up properly and all filters are clean. Of course the biggest facter in mpg is how heavy is the foot of the driver.

Q: Chevy S10 1980’s pickup?
how much would i have to pay for a good used chevy s10 pickup 1980’s model that runs?

A: if you can actually find one it shouldn’t be all that expensive… a couple thousand at best

Q: I have a 1986 Chevy S10 blazer 4wd. used for snow plowing.?
When the wheel is turned the truck makes a noise like metal cans clanging. What could be causing this?
To clarify previous question: the clanging cans noise is loudest in Park or Neutral and lessens in Drive or Reverse. Still ball joints?

A: Could it be a loose pulley or idler wheel?

Q: what type of a/c refrigerant does my 1998 chevy s10 use?
Lets say I did have r12 would I be able to add 134 to it or no?

A: if it has r12 it will need to be retrofitted over to r134a.the two refrigerants will not mix.let a qualified tech service the system for you.

Q: Is the Chevy S10 with the 2.2 Liter 4 cylinder sluggish?
I am going to be getting a used Chevy S10 soon and am debating between a 97′ V6 4wd or a 01′ I4 2wd. The truck is mostly going to be a daily driver with occasional towing and haling of light loads (The heaviest thing I would tow is a small motor boat). The 4 cylinder will get better gas millage but I am worried that it is going to feel underpowered on the highway. Is this true? It is only 120 horsepower which sounds small for a truck. Would the V6 be a better option?

A: The 2.2 Cly in the S-10 is one of the most gutless engines ever used by Chevrolet.Any engine you get will be better than the 2.2. Trust me these are really bad for power.Best of luck.
