Great article and read about: Chevy Suburban Review

Q: 2007 Chevy Suburban vs. 2007 GMC Yukon ?
So I have been reading reviews of the 2007 Suburban and have read about numerous electrical problems and abnormal oil consumption. On one sight, all the complaints were about abnormal oil guzzling, but on another review site that was not even mentioned. So I think the site was biased against American vehicles. However, I have not read any of this of the Yukon. Because they are basically the same vehicle, are the reviews I am reading a little distorted? Also, they have the exact same engine right?

Has anyone had any luck with these vehicles? And please, no comments regarding hatred of American vehicles. It won’t temp me into buying anything else.

A: If it was forbes.com, I think they are anti-American. In a recent smackdown of American cars, they said Dodge Nitro was one of the worst, but they didn’t mention the Jeep version. But they listed the Colorado and the Canyon on there. I would never trust any publication or site that puts down GM or Ford.

A: Calvin, these are GREAT trucks (looking to upgrade myself to a Yukon from an Envoy)need the space, kids are getting older.. and YES they are the same truck (GMC has more bells & whistles).

I work on these trucks every day, and to be honest, I have not seen anything that would alarm me, yes you’re going to have the few exceptions, (but don’t forget GM sells hundreds of thousands of these vehicles a year, so you’re going to find a few with problems,no doubt. Just as you would any other vehicle manufacturer…

These vehicles come with factory 5 years 100,000 mile powertrain warranty.

BUY IT WITH CONFIDENCE

Q: Michelin LTX M/S or LTX M/S 2?
I have Michelin LTX M/S tires on my Chevy Suburban right now. They have been great tires, but they have finally worn down and I need new ones. I see that there are now Michelin LTX M/S 2 tires for sale. They have good reviews just like the LTX M/S, but I can’t find any reviews comparing the two tires to each other. I don’t want to assume the M/S 2 tires are better just because they are newer. Anyone have any experience with owning both of the tires, and which ones did you prefer? Thanks

A: Why wouldn’t you assume the new replacement tire is better than the ancient 20 year-old tire design it is replacing? Do you really think a tire manufacturer like Michelin which only produces premium, high-end product is going to come out with a new product that doesn’t outperform the product it supercedes?

Q: First Car 5k or under!?!?
I am really looking forward to getting my first car. Before anyone goes and calls me a bratt, my parents are making me pay for the entire thing myself. Which I am kinda happy about (don’t want to associate with the other bratty suburbanites in my neighborhood- especially the alcoholic ones…)

ANYWAYS…
I was looking at the ford escape and actually am really liking the whole idea. It is big enough to not be something I would be afraid of dyeing in a fender bender in, yet it isn’t to big to be like a bus (although I am used to the bus-like car as my family has a chevy suburban). My question is, am i crazy to be thinking I would be able to get this car for 5k or less. Also, if I get one this cheap, will it just be a giant money heap (aka Piece O’Crap)?

Things I like about this car:
-size
-goodish mpg
-ability to tow
-good reviews

If you have any opinions, suggestions, or anything that would help, please answer.

A: We actually just bought my sister a 2000 Cadillac Catera for about 3 large… 4 door sedan with Cadillac features leater int bose system v6 performance and is fairly resonable to fix as expenses go. Nice body alot of bang for the buck with this car and GM’s tend to last long if you maintain scheduled maintanence… Hope this helps

Q: Most reliable 7 or 8 seat Minivan/Suv with Good gas milage?
We are a family of 8 that has an OLD Chevy Suburban (1988), with gas prices now, it is killing us (about 12 miles to gallon), it is very reliable plus husband can fix it anytime it needs repaired. We almost fear buying something else used -due to repairs he can not do. IT seems all reviews I read has horrendous problems with Transmissions, electrical, etc etc. I can not decide on a newer vehicle (though we MUST buy used, can not afford anything new). Advice please.

A: Honda Odyssey mini van has been rated number one or two for the last 8 or 9 years right along with Toyota Sienna both of them get good mileage around town and out on the the road. I will tell you also that a lot has to do with how one drives to determine what kind of mileage they will get but I owned a 2002 Honda Odyssey and a 2005 Honda Odyssey and now have a 2008 Toyota Sienna and all three would get about 17 or 18 around town and about 25 to 27 on the road. We have used ours to travel extensively and would never use anything but a mini van, …. and to think that I really didn’t want one to begin with. We drove BMW’s before and unless BMW makes a mini van I won’t be driving one of them.

Q: Hankook or Cooper tires for my Chevy Sub?
I have deals for 275/55/20″
Hankook Ventus st rh06
OR
Cooper Discoverer H/T

I currently have Michelin LTX M/S which wore down way sooner than they should have and have horrible wet traction and now at least $100 more than they were 4 years ago. In wet I can barely take off at 1/4 without fish tailing, and forget about leaving the car wash parking lot, EVERY TIME no matter how slow I go I fish tail. LAME!

I soon may need to be towing a medium boat and need to be able to get good enough traction at the docks.
I need an all terrain for going up to the mountains and snow a few times a year, but do heavy highway driving most of the time and want something that looks sharp.

I have been researching for a over a week. HELP!! I need honesty, not someone blogging for the companies themselves.

Hankook looks way nicer and I have read better reviews all around for them on many vehicles except for ice traction…

The guy at the main tire store my uncle goes to said he has Coopers on his wife’s Tahoe (smaller than a Suburban) and they have worked just fine.

Please only for SUV and these tire models since the traction can vary for different tires and just comparing the brands will not do.

HELP!!??!!??!

Thank you to whoever spends the time giving me the up and up.

A: hankooks are better quality tires..no contest.

A: Have you tried Dunlop tires? They are the best tires available in my opinion…all application all performance categories.
