Q: What motor oil comes stock from the factory in the engine of a FORD GT ( the remake of the GT40 from the 60’s)
http://www.fordgt.org/images/stories/pics/ford-gt2.jpg
I know for example Chevy Corvette’s are factory stock with Mobil1. So what does the Ford GT use anyone actually know for a fact?
A: Motorcraft 5W-50
Q: How would you call this race: Ford GT40, Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Dodge Viper ACR, Ferrari 430SC?
Excepting the GT40, all of the above were reviewed in Road & Track, February 2008. The venue for this hypothetical contest is Infineon Raceway, Sears Point, CA, USA, involving forty laps of the American Motorcycle Association-spec seven-mile loop–the venue is used by CART, NASCAR, NHRA, IHRA, DHRA, &c., and as I understand things was recently added by Indy Racing League. If FIA chose this venue for a Formula One event, their preferred course would probably be the same one used by AMA for Superbike races.
Order and intervals of finish, given equal drivers, would be appreciated.
A: Well, the first thing to look at is the track… Infineon is a wonderful flowing track that places cars almost in constant transition, putting a premium on handling. This is one of my favorite tracks as a driver, and certainly one of the more challenging and more technical.
The Ford GT would seem to be well suited for this track… but I would have to go back to personal experience at having seen two Ford GTs at events at this track. Both suffered failures under less than stressful driving that required them leaving via a flatbed. As finishing is a requirment to winning, The Ford GT scores an impressive result on paper, but in the end, I don’t think it’s a genuine track car as was the original GT40. Mark it down for last place.
The Viper has made great strides in recent years as a track car. With the issues of the inadequate brakes of the earlier cars now firmly addressed, and small improvements all around, it’s a really great car, and one that should hold up (where some of the earlier cars might of been prone to ending the same as the GT). However, the nature of the track does not play to the Viper’s strong points, and the quickest part of the track (the esses) will work against it as the weakest handling car of the group. Mark it down for third (could easily get a better result at a different track with more straights and low speed corners).
Which brings us to the Corvette and the Ferrari. Both cars have alot of strengths… but ultimately it would come down to the power advantage of the Corvette against the chasis and braking advantage of the Ferrari. The ZR1 looks like it will be pretty amazing, but it would be a feat if it comes close to the Ferrari in terms of chasis balance, poise, and rigidity.
This would give the Ferrari an advantage in a couple key spots on the track, which should compensate for the couple spots where the ZR1 could really take advantage of it’s power. Giving a second place to the Corvette, and the winning spot to the Ferrari.
The longer the race, the more the advantage would go to the Ferrari, given the better balance and less power and weight, the Ferrari should also do better on brake and tire wear where the others would eventually lose time to both of these.
Q: How much should I sell a 66′ Ford Mustang for?
I just bought this car from my girlfriends grandma about 2 years ago. I thought I was going to build it into a crazy 1/4 mile beast….SVO style 302 with GT40 Heads and some Sticky Mickey Thompsons, you know crazy muscle. But that was two years ago, and now i really dont wan’t to rape this car like that, the car was garaged 28 years by grandma (it was granpa’s car, and when he passed away *RIP* granma didn’t wan to drive it any more so she garaged it) and has been garaged by me for 2 years. It has plate stickers from 1975! Its a 289 Model, 5 lug, A/C Unit And white/beige original pony leather. Its even still sitting on the original white wall tires! The car is kinda of avocado green. It looks dirty but if you rub it you can still see gloss. The Transmission is stuck, and so is the diff. I feel bad selling it, but i need money to fix my real race car which i use for SCCA solo runs / drif events (89 Nissan 240SX). SO…For How Much Should I Sell it For????????
By the way the original 289 Engine has 60,000 miles! I promise you, it hasn’t rolled over! I swear!
By the way…im sure you know, ITS NOT RUNNING! It HASN”T TURNED ON FOR 31 YEARS………but no rust! Water hasn’t touched it! Its been garaged.
Sorry for not telling you……its Coupe, Vinyl Top.

Q: What issues will I have when I put a new computer (ECM) in my 2001 Ford Focus?
I have a GT40 kit car that uses the engine and drive train from a 2001 ford focus. I’m currently replacing the wiring and in the process I disconnected the ECM and noticed that one of the pins was rusted and broke off when I disconnected it. Now I have to get another ECM but I’m not sure what if anything will need to be reprogrammed. Please help!!!…
I understand the replacement ECM must have the same numbers on the top row of the data plate. True?
I also understand that the security key will need to be reprogrammed which can be done by turning the ignition on for 15 mintues and then off again then on for 15 then off again three times. I’m told this will cause the computer to learn the key chip. True?
What if any other issues will I have to resolve?
A: Yes, so in the process simply disconnect in the ecm.
Q: 95 ford mustang gt intake?

Q: Which car would you rather have?
Out of curiousity, would you rather have:
A 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 GTR Twin Turbo (8.4L V10 Twin Turbo)
or
A 2006 Ford GT (GT40) (5.4L V8 Supercharged)
or
A 2010 Chevrolet C6 Z06 (7.0L V8 Supercharged)
**keep in mind that this isn’t just which one is cooler or faster. Keep in mind all the speed/coolness, but think of it also for everyday use [keeping clean, getting in and out, parking, etc]**
Tell me what you think is the best one for answer A and which one is best for money for answer B. (Answer A not price dependent)
A: Corvette. I love the Viper, but if I was going to drive this car around a few times a week or more, I would want comfort as much as anything. And they all have more performance potential than I would ever be able to use on city streets.
Q: I am trying to trade my old truck for a project Mustang can someone help identify a name for a part?
I have been told this 93 mustang is in pieces motor wise and has been machined and has certain internal parts, The block supposedly has been bored .30 over and the crank has been machined accordingly which sounds right to me, it is supposed to have mustang cobra gt40 heads, but the cam is called an X cam….Not sure if thats really a brand or if the guys pulling the wool over my eyes or something. Any ford genius’s out there? Other than that it sounds like a decent motor but I am having a hard time figuring out the type of cam being used. Any help is appreciated
Mike
A: Yes the X cam is one type of HI-power cams they use.
And BTW the GT-40 heads are great on that engine. Sounds like a great project car!
