Used AMC Gremlin

Great article and read about: Used AMC Gremlin For Sale

Q: DID you ever own a AMC PACER or GREMLIN new or used?
I had a GF who once had a 75 PACER she bought for $500 dollars in the late 80’s. The AC was broke, it was hotter than a greenhouse in Summer. Rode like a shopping cart with soft suspension, rusty, sucked gas, trim falling off every day, and the engine burned up after someone filled it with kerosene!

Same GF then owned a 76 Gremlin base model I bought for $400 dollars from a hooptie lot, sucked gas, underpowered, rode like a shopping cart, and I could never figure why the whole back didn’t raise up like a true hatchback instead of just that small rear window. Eventually the engine lost compression and it was knocking away, so sold it off to someone who wanted it as a fixer-upper.

Anyone else?

A: I also had a 76 Gremlin, Front fenders were full of duck tape but ran like a top, i finally drove it to the scrap yard the day before i went into the Military, Payed 200.00 for the car in the early 1980’s and got 150.00 at the scrap yard. Not bad for 2 years of beating the “CRAP” out of it and only paying $50.00 for having a blast as a kid.

Q: What kinda car did the MVP get back in the day?
Back when players had to work in the produce aisle during the off-season to make ends meet, what did the Super Bowl MVP get? Like a used Chevy Vega or an AMC Gremlin?

A: a convertable pinto w’alarm

Q: What is a cheap old car I could get for 500 to 1000 bucks used?
How much do AMC Gremlins go for?

A: Avoid the Gremlins they were and are junk.
I have a 1990 Chevy Corsica I paid $500 for 3 years ago. It has been very reliable and it has only been about $600 a year to maintain. You can get a newer one with about 100,000 miles on it for around a a grand. Expect to put $500 – $600 a year into it for maintenance.

Some others you can get in your price range are Chevy Berettas (2 door Corsica), Cavaliers, Pontiac Grand Ams/ Grand Prix’s or a few other mid sized cars.
Look for something that is already street legal in your state. Used dealers will have them sometimes; more likely you will get one private sale from a person that is looking to sell it for more than it is worth as a trade in (most cars sell for 3-4 times their trade in value.)

Q: What is the best way to clean out a dirty/rusted gas tank.?
I have a 1977 AMC Gremlin X that has been in my family since it was new. It has been sitting for a few years, and i finally decided to start working on it seeing as how it is already in great condition.

I pulled the gas tank off and its quite dirty/rusty but really doesnt look/feel that bad. What would be the best and cheapest way to clean it out good enough to use without going through fuel filters like no other?

A: I have used the KBS Tank Sealing Kits with success. There is a flowchart on how to use the stuff – http://www.kbs-coatings.com/Flow-Chart–Tank-Sealer_ep_88-1.html

The kit I usually get is this one – http://www.kbs-coatings.com/Auto-Fuel-Tank-Sealer-Kit_p_7-34.html

Q: Which Car do you think is faster?
If I bought one of these cars off of a used car lot with 100,000k miles which one do you think would be faster? 1981 Delorean, 84 Mustang 4 cylinder, AMC Gremlin of any Year.

A: Of course the 1981 DeLorean, as long as you keep it away from the white lines on the road.

Q: Why do people quote BarackObama.com and treat it as fact?
Since when do you ask the fox advice on how to guard the hen house?

Every used-car salesman will tell you the ‘72 AMC Gremlin is the greatest car in the world if he knows you got money in your pocket.

Why would Obama do anything different? He knows you have a vote in your pocket (multiple votes if you are registered through ACORN) and he will tell you everything you WANT to hear in the name of “Change”

In 143 days of congress he has very little voting history to back up his positions, so why quote his every word like it’s a guarentee?

A: They love proaganda like an addict loves smack.
